Who are these people?!

The Deep Dark is a rock duo from Parkersburg, WV. After spending time independently as solo acoustic artists, Corey Shields and Traci Goode started to find that collaboration made for a more broad possibility when creating new music. Neither of them thought that combining forces would lead to this kind of creative project or a sound that is this heavy.

After a healthy break from creating, The Deep Dark began in the early half of quarantine during the 2020 pandemic. Creating this world was an excellent way to refocus musically while also setting the current world aside. Corey is a multi-instrumentalist in addition to being a strong vocalist and lyricist, and his immense talent is all over this record. Traci is struggling to write anything about herself in this box, but she helped too, I guess.

The Deep Dark is meant to be an exploration of the worst that humanity and community have to offer. Throw in some mythical, magical evil, and catastrophe is inevitable. The short stories serve to set the stage for each track on the album, with each song being the segue to the next story. We hope you find this experience fun and engaging.
